Stainless Steel Screws.

Stainless Steel Screws.

Stainless steel screws are usually self tapping or wood screws. Self tapping screws are available in A2 & A4 stainless steel and can be used in wood, metal, plastic or a variety of other materials. Unless the material is soft they will require a hole to be predrilled. Stainless steel chipboard screws are widely used on any timber application and are very similar to self tapping screws but usually have a slightly courser thread for faster insertion, they are not suitable to be used on metals or plastics. Most stainless steel screws are available with Pan Heads (does not require countersinking), Countersunk Heads, and Countersunk Raised Heads. These heads can either be Slotted, Pozi Drive, Philips or Torx (Star shape). Other Stainless steel screws include self drilling screws and traditional wood screws. Sizes are usually available from 2.2mm (No 3) diameter to 6.4mm (No 14) with lengths from 6.5mm to 100. Longer lengths up to 300mm are available in chipboard screws.
